Trump order protecting women's sports draws support from liberals, prominent trans-identified figure

Caitlyn (Bruce) Jenner, a former Olympian and a man who identifies as female, referred to Trump's signing of the executive order as "[a]nother victory in the fight for protecting women's sports!"
"President Trump signs an Executive Order keeping biological men out of women's sports!" he wrote in an X post on Feb. 5. "As an Olympian, I will continue to fight this issue, lobbying sport governing body's (sic) all over the world to follow our lead!"
The 75-year-old media personality, who won a gold medal in the decathlon at the 1976 Olympics, is perhaps one of the most prominent athletes who identifies as the opposite sex. Jenner announced in 2015 that he identified as a woman.
While the retired athlete claimed in a 2021 interview with CNN's Dana Bash that he didn't vote in the 2020 presidential race, Jenner, a Republican, claimed in an Instagram post last month that he has always supported Trump.
In the post, Jenner wrote that he was "honored" to have attended Trump's first presidential inauguration, adding that he was "[h]appier than ever to be back for the second one."
In 2023, Jenner came to the defense of a Vermont Christian school's girls' basketball team that was punished after forfeiting a game against an opponent with a male player.
"First of all, I've been very consistent on this subject. I've always tried to protect women in sports," Jenner said during a Fox News segment at the time.
"But these stories, they're all kind of the same, but with a little bit of a twist. What's happened is … the radical left and their radical gender ideology have really tried to over the years blur that line between men and women."
