6 reactions to Trump's plan to make Gaza the 'Riviera of the Middle East'
1. Rep. Steve Cohen: ‘Gambling halls, strippers and hookers’
Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., a critic of the president, didn't react positively to Trump's plan to create a Riviera of the Middle East.
In an appearance on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” Wednesday, Cohen mocked the plan as a pitch to “take that land, the Palestinians’ land, and put casinos on it and bars and gambling halls and strippers and hookers. That's going to be wonderful?”
“Hamas isn’t going to take it; the Palestinians aren’t going to take it,” he said, asserting that “Donald Trump is getting us into real trouble.”
